We have run a coverage model of our VHF repeater, and from what we have learned from past experiences, this map is fairly accurate. Of course, nothing is guaranteed. This map is based on the assumption that you will be talking on a base or mobile radio.
Our new digital mode repeater is now online! You are more than welcome to use this repeater for Slow Scan TV, PSK, and any other digital format you would like. This repeater can also be used for phone on a secondary basis. Feel free to try it out! The frequency is 443.425+ no tone.
Stay tuned! We will be working on adding more stuff to the website and giving the site a little refresh. With everyone’s busy schedule and life’s happenings, it seems that this site is the first thing to get neglected, so I am going to do my best to keep it updated and refreshed. If there is anything you like to see us add to the site, please leave us a comment and tell us what you would like to see!
As always, Ron Schott and The Vandalia Leader, wrote up an awesome story featuring AECI and it’s Field Day activities. Thank You Ron and The Leader for your continued support of our club! You can read the article here: Vandalia Leader AECI Story
AECI will be conducting a one day training class on July 16, 2016. It will start at 8 am in the community room of the Audrain County Courthouse. It will be an 8 hour class with the test given right after the class. Registration is not required, but is encouraged. You may register here on our website if you are interested.
AECI would like to invite everyone to come out to our Field Day activities this year. We will begin the setup at 10:30 a.m. On Saturday June 25th. We will go on the air at 1:00 p.m. We will be operating a full 24 hours, ending at 1:00 p.m. Sunday June 26th. Everyone is invited to attend. Non-licensed people who are interested in making a contact will have an opportunity to do so on our special GOTA (Get On The Air) rig that will be setup during Field Day. Anyone who has questions may contact Kenny Fairchild (KE0DUO) on the repeater or by phone at 473.4060.
Well, the day finally got here! It took us almost a year to complete this project, but everything is installed in the new site. We are currently running coverage tests to see what kind of difference our new antenna and feedline made. Currently, we are still using our old repeater at the new site. But stay tuned! We have more upgrades in store for this site!
Without support of the community, this project would not have been possible. AECI would like to thank the following for making this happen:
